Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!  I'm not even going to hide the fact that I'm currently writing a workout post with wine in my hand but since it's Memorial Day weekend I'm excused, right? I'm not exactly what you'd call "fit" and I don't have a consistent workout routine...Lets be real.  For example, last night I made a 30 minute drive to town because me and my boyfriend were craving cookies.  (lets not talk about how many)  I basically eat whatever I want whenever I want and I don't really see that aspect changing anytime soon.  I admire those who work hard within their fitness routines to get where they are. (s/o megan)  I know everyone has different goals, views and different reasons for trying to incorporate a more healthy and fit lifestyle but I'm currently pretty happy with my body so I think a simple at home workout will be great for me right now as a beginner.  If you're like me and an at home work out sounds good to you too, keep reading!

 My best friend on the other hand... is basically a machine and a workout guru.   So... When I scored this collaboration with ActiveFit, I called her up and told her to put me an at home work out together asap for you guys.  If you need demos for any of the workouts, you can refer to YouTube where there are always tons of videos demonstrating how to do each workout.  

Biceps/Triceps

Bicep Curls (5-10 pounds for beginners) 5 sets of 12-15
Tricep Dips (you can use a chair or low table) 5 sets of 12-15
Hammer Curls 4 sets (15,12,10,10)
Tricep Extensions 4 sets (12,12,10,10)

Shoulders

Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press 4 sets of 12-15
Lateral Raises 4 sets of 12-15
Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Press 4 sets of 12-15

Legs & Glutes

Start with 20 lb kettle bell and hold between legs for squats 5 sets of 25-30
Curtsy lunges 4 sets of 12-15
Resistance band tied around legs- on all fours and do donkey kicks back for each leg 5 sets of 12
Banded Glute Bridges 4 sets of 15
Reverse Lunges 4 sets of 12-15 per leg
Fire Hydrant (refer to youtube to see demo)  4 sets of 15 per leg
Calf Raises holding dumbbells to the side 4 sets of 20

Core

Kettle bell Russian Twist (refer to youtube) 5 sets of 20 
Plank 3 sets hold for 30 seconds
Bicycle Crunches 3 sets of 20 
Mountain Climbers 3 sets of 12-15 per side

Add in Cardio 3-5 times per week for at least 20 minutes
